GCP Associate Cloud Engineer Beta Exam in 2023
100% Lab based Google Cloud exam for the first time
I got a mail from GCP few days ago and it was mentioned they are going to update their GCP ACE exam which is a entry point exam for cloud engineers.
This exam is covering lot of GCP and IT topics for which experience is required
Back in 2014, my journey with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) began. At that time, the certification offered was service-based, not role-based.
In 2018, GCP introduced the Associate Cloud Engineer exam, which I took and successfully passed. It was a challenging exam, and in 2020, I went through the process of renewing it. At that time, the certification was valid for two years.
However, in the middle of 2022, I received some great news – the validity period of the ACE certification was extended to three years. This meant I didn’t have to retake the same exam as frequently as before, as GCP typically updated their certification exams every 18-30 months.
Recently, I received an exciting email stating that Google is testing a new method for renewing the GCP ACE exam through LABs. I couldn’t be happier, as my exam renewal is approaching, and I now have the opportunity to try out this new renewal approach.
I quickly signed up for the LAB-based ACE exam and am eagerly waiting for confirmation. I’ll make sure to keep you updated on how it goes. Fingers crossed for a successful renewal!
Update on 18th July - I got the invite to participate in beta exam and below is the snippet
If you want to try this beta testing kind of experience then here is the guide by Google and the registration link is inside – https://services.google.com/fh/files/misc/ace_renewal_lab_exam.pdf
Here is the badge I found for this certification from the documents and communication going on with GCP ACE renewal team.
All the best to everyone who are going to appear for this.
I will share my experience in another blog post.
Happy Cloud Computing!!!!
